ARTIST PROFILE: Niagara

Painter, rock performer and personality, Niagara has been one of the strongest voices from the Detroit art scene since the 90’s when she began pushing Girl Power with her pop influenced paintings. As the front person of Destroy All Monsters, both an avant-garde band and art collective, she was an early architect of the music and visual styles which would overthrow the status quo internationally. Too large a personality to remain underground, she was the centerfold in the legendary Punk Magazine and was featured countless times in Creem and Rolling Stone. Gorgeous spreads of her artwork have been displayed in a wide variety of magazines including Art in America, Vogue, Juxtapoz. She has had exhibitions in Japan, Australia, Europe & throughout America. Niagara has been collaborating with Hysteric Glamour for over a decade. Niagara is art goddess for a new generation and Detroit’s best known artist.
