東京から車で２時間半ほど、メインストリートが数キロほどの小さな益子町、
ここには世界から建築家や現代美術家、クラフト作家が訪ねてくる特殊な場所だ。
ここに暮らす人は美しく豊かに暮らしている。
京都のACE HOTELなどのテーブルなども手掛けた木工作家の高山英樹さんの家は、益子町のはずれ、田んぼの畦道の先にぽつんとある。
ここはご自分で１から建て、
今は山や畑の開拓をしながらも
LAやサンフランシスコなどで展示もされる作家生活をされていて、その暮らしの景色は美しいものに囲まれ自由な時間が泣かれている。
今回、奥さまの純子さんが益子を代表する成井窯で陶芸をされる様子を記録させていただきました。
